Hi all, hope you’re well!
I was lucky enough to go to the beach this Saturday. It was a one and a half hour drive on a bumpy road but it was so worth it. The sun was shining, the sand and water was crystal clear and there was just so much space so you could literally see for mile and miles off. After taking like a billion photos I then had to come home and decide which one to use for my 365 project! It really wasn’t easy considering I had so many I liked after I deleted the ones which I didn’t deem good enough (I’m very fussy when it comes to photography).
What I really need is a wide angle lens. At the moment I still have my Canon 7D & 24-70mm L but that on a crop camera isn’t really wide.. but I guess for a lot of things it’s sufficient… just not sufficient enough for this beach. There’s miles and miles of wide open space and ocean I was disappointed when I figured out I couldn’t get the photo wide enough so I wasn’t able to show you the whole expanse. However, when I return to England for a holiday I’m picking up my Canon 5D mk II, along with my Canon 135mm f/2 that I’ve ordered and is waiting for me at home! I might also pick up a wide angle if I have enough time!
This is what I chose for my day One Hundred & Forty
As you can see, it was a beautiful day.
I also want to show you a preview of one of my Lightroom Presets from my upcoming J’adore set. This particular one I’m going to feature is specifically tailored to suit beaches & summery blue sky pictures.
The preset is called ‘Light Ocean Breeze‘. In this I’ve included something which enhances your sky and clouds and brings them to life for a more intense photo. I’ve also included something to enhance and enrich the sand to give it a sun kissed feel. At the same time it also creates a soft, bright, beachy look which really takes you back to summer. I literally created this preset last night and I’ve used it on the whole series of beach photos I captured yesterday, all of which I’m about to show you. I can already tell I’ll be using this one a lot.
I’ll stop talking about it now and actually show you it in action. The photos below are my favourites from my beach collection yesterday with this preset applied. I’ll even show you a couple of before and afters.
Personally, I can’t wait to use this preset more!
So check out the other piccies I got yesterday with this preset applied. I hope you enjoy them!
This was edited with my Overcast Lightroom Preset
That’s everything. But for now, happy processing!
Any questions please comment and I’ll get back to you. 🙂
